Choosing the right location for your dog’s professional photography session is about more than just finding a beautiful backdrop. It’s about selecting a spot that best suits your pup’s unique personality and needs. I take every dog’s comfort and well-being seriously. Thanks to my training background, I have experience working with dogs of all temperaments, including those with behavioral challenges—not just the confident and social ones. During the booking process, I ask a series of questions to get to know your dog better so that I can tailor the session specifically to them, including choosing the ideal location.

If your dog is nervous around new people, other dogs, or unfamiliar environments, I may recommend taking photos in the comfort of your home or yard. While you might think your yard isn’t special, remember—the focus is on your dog! Even the simplest locations can be the perfect setting for stunning photos.

For pups who may not be dog-friendly, people-friendly, or both, home is still a great option, but we can also explore other possibilities. I can recommend parks with little to no foot traffic to minimize unwanted interactions. If you prefer a more modern feel, there are also some low-traffic urban locations we can consider. No matter the setting, your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. If anyone were to approach, I will advocate for your dog by politely asking them to keep their distance.

For dogs who are comfortable in a variety of settings, we have even more flexibility! We can visit high- or low-traffic parks or even take a stroll through charming towns. Regardless of their confidence level, I always take care to minimize interruptions from other people or dogs, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable session.

Choosing a location that suits your dog is essential—we want to avoid unnecessary stress and create a positive experience. No matter where we shoot, I promise we’ll capture beautiful, meaningful images of your pup. If your dog is reactive or has fear-based behaviors, don’t feel discouraged. There are always options to ensure both you and your dog feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed throughout your session!
